Cable Franchise Information

CoralVision is operated by the City of Coralville’s Telecommunications Department. CoralVision is funded by a franchise fee paid to the City by Coralville’s cable television provider, Mediacom. The franchise fee allows Mediacom to use local public rights of way to place cable transmission lines.

Mediacom's state franchise agreement is non-exclusive, and Coralville is an open market for cable service providers. Cable franchise agreements are issued by the Iowa Utilities Board. The City does not control Mediacom rates.
